Lafayette was to the point she was losing her mind. She wasn't going to be paid for another few days, and was completely out of the drugs that were keeping her numb. She thought too much when she was sober, her mind going back to that day in high school when she just fell out and they told her she wasn't even a girl, that she couldn't have babies like everyone else. She glanced at the watch on her wrist, but it didn't really matter what time it was. She lived alone in the smallest apartment possible. What did it matter what time she came in?
The watch read twenty after two, but it wasn't like it was any later than the times she normally stayed up. She sighed, drawing her knees up to her chest. She carefully fixed her skirt, chewing on her lip.

Eyes skimmed the dark park quietly, feeling oddly at home, the occasional, welcoming glimmer of eyes in the shadows. The demon that had been trailing him like a lost puppy had left after some money and food, and Zain couldn't help but realize he was something more. This power. It was interesting, growing within him. That boiling rage, madness, from the very pits of Hell.
He spotted a figure in the dark, a smile curling his lips. No male, but he supposed she would do. At least for flirting. She seemed bothered and he couldn't help but wonder. Drugs or money? Only those people often lurked here at that time. Or the night creatures. "Mm..what's a pretty face like you doin' out here at this time?" Eyes flickered, glinting with a curious glow, a spark of determination, as he approached.

Lafayette looked up as she was spoke to, her eyes searching his face. He was terrifying in a way she couldn't begin to describe. Something about him was just.. utterly horrible. 'Well, this how I die.' She thought flatly. "I just got off work a little while ago and didn't feel like going home." Sometimes she didn't even make it hope. She just fell asleep in the park somewhere. It wasn't really her fault. She worked all hours of the night, and sometimes the entire day through. She was tired.
"I guess I could ask you the same question. But neither of us seem very normal to begin with. So it's kind of redundant." She rubbed sleepily at her eye, resting her chin on her knees.

Zain smirked, settling down beside her. "You look awfully dull-hearted. Bothered?" He drawled darkly, bangs falling over his face. He brushed them aside, glancing up at a sharp bark, eyes gleaming. "Hm, the wolves are out." Not hint of them being werewolves, what with her possibly being human and all. Something said she was, but with a little extra kick. "So what is it, drugs, money, boyfriend problems?" A sneering laugh.

She shook her head. She wasn't so much bothered as pained. She hated the memories floating through her head. They were miserable to think about. 'You're just a fucked-up person. No one's ever going to want you. You may as well be dead.' She detested the voices in her head, how they seemed to know so much.
"Drugs, more or less. And a lack of a will to walk all the way home." She shrugged, tucking her bangs behind her ear. "I never liked walking home this late. There's creeps out." Little did she know, king creep was sitting beside her.

Zain laughed. "There's always creeps out around here," He scoffed, eyes dangerous, predatory. "Look here little lady, I'll tell you what. I know a guy, hm? He can get you all the drugs you need, and I bet I could ge him to knock off the price. But, you'll owe me, yeah?" A curling, coy smile, and he stood and offered a tattooed hand to help her up. "Come on," He practically whispered. "I'll show you."

Lafayette listened to him, half tempted to go. "I don't get paid until Friday." She told him quietly, but took his hand anyways. Her uncle always told her she was entirely too trusting of other people, that it'd end up killing her one day. But she hadn't met a stranger she didn't like, and she didn't think that'd change any time soon. She dusted off the back of her skirt, her eyes glancing him over again. "Oops." She squeaked, leaning over to tie her shoe. "I'd hate to fall and die." She offered him a smile, slipping her hands into her pockets.

Zain chuckled. "I told you, I could get him to knock off the price hm? You could pay another time. He won't mind, he'll take my word." He watched with calculating eyes as she stopped to tie her shoe. "I promise, it'll be afordable. All I ask is you be ready to offer a favor when I need it, that's it, and you get a cheap hook up for life." He crossed his arms, nodding towards the road. "You coming?"

She nodded, playing with one of the mints in her pockets. She didn't realize she was literally making a deal with the devil. "Yeah, sure. I don't mind." She started walking with him towards the road, watching her feet so she didn't trip over anything. She had a sudden craving for vodka, which was odd considering it was the one thing besides tequila she didn't drink. "Can I at least ask your name? I'm Lafayette." She looked over at him, her hair falling in her face.

'And hooked,' Zain thought with pleasure. He wouldn't forget, either. He walked with her up the road a ways, trying to decide exactly where Connor would be before he texted him and told him to meet at the old abandoned church. "Name? Uh, Zain." He huffed, looking around. "You're one for odd names too, hm?" A crooked, dark smirk, and he nudged her to a cross walk and over it, keeping silent until they reached the church, a dark shadow disapearing in front of them inside.

"My dad said it adds character.. Something about we subconsciously act like our names." Lafayette shrugged. She never really bought it. Two people named Sam would act two totally different ways. And how's a Lafayette supposed to act anyways? She walked quietly to the church, realizing just how badly she didn't like them. If anyone was a sinner, it was her. And most of it, she wasn't to be forgiven for, she thought. She was caught between two people she didn't even know. So she just wrapped her arms around herself, looking at what surrounded her.

"I hate these fuckin' places," Zain whined, smirking as he saw Connor's sick figure waiting fearfully. "Ah, Connor. I've got a deal for you." "I-I don't want i-it.." "Mm, not that deal. Someone looking for drugs." He approached the younger male, shoved at him a bit. "She won't be paying, either. Got it?" Connor swallowed, nodding as he began pulling things out with shaking hands. Zain only smirked her way. "Pick your poison, doll."

The fact like the smaller boy was pushed somewhat bothered her. She didn't like anyone being bullied. "I only do opiates. And I'll pay you Friday, okay? Promise." She gave him a gentle smile, rubbing her arms. Everyone seemed as uncomfortable as she did in a church. 'We're all going to hell for sure.' She thought, coughing into her arm. She knew by now the rates she owed him.

Zain watched with a smirk a the boy pulled out what she had asked for, tapping his foot. Something fell and Zain bent to pick it up, Connor flinching and taking a step back in fear, watching him. "Relax angel baby," Zain sneered, handing the bag back and crossing his arms. He glanced at the girl again, grinned. "That all you need then?" Connor didn't even raise his head, didn't say a word in mention of her saying she'd pay him back.

She took them from him slowly, tucking the pills into her pocket. "Thank you." She said quietly, giving him a smile. She nodded at Zain's question, more than ready to get out of this church. She was sure it was going to just up and burn down with the three of them in it. She walked down the church steps, pulling her candy out of her pocket to unwrap it and put it in her mouth.
