Maybe the only reason Lafayette liked working at the candy counter was because she was surrounded by sweets. But her drug addiction probably had a lot to do with it too. She didn't admit that to a lot of people, though. If at all possible, she didn't tell anyone at all. She hated the way they seemed to judge her, how she thought they looked right through her.
She smiled at the little boy who approached the counter. "Hi there!" She told him happily, leaning over a little closer as he started to tell her what he wanted. She walked to the lollipops, pulling out a blue one for him before she walked back, handing it to him. "There you go!"

Trez walked through the mall, humming softly and toying with the metal medical tag around his right wrist. Sean had dragged poor Zayne off to be his wingman in flirting with a few guys. So when Trez saw a pretty girl behind the candy counter, he veered that way, making an excuse of wandering the little shop as if he was actually interested in something. He'd seen her once or twice when he passed by here, spent an awful lot of time in the mall sometimes. It was better than sitting in a quiet house any day. He smiled crookedly, offering her a nod, then went bak to his pointless browsing.

Lafayette couldn't help but notice when the boy nodded; he was practically a walking god. No pun intended. She smiled a bright smile, then went back to rearranging the jars on the counter. She couldn't stand when they were out of place.
She carefully filled the large order of the next person, making sure not to mix the peppermints and gummy bears and other assorted treats the woman had wanted. She guessed it was her big pregnant belly that was the culprit of all the odd foods she was asking for. She handed her the bag with a smile, then went back to arranging the jars as she hummed.

Trez chuckled under his breath. He groaned as Sean bounced in. "Trez. Trezzzz, buy me something. Please?" Sean was practically all up on him and Trez complained. "Fine okay. Go seenhow many numbers you can get or something. And stop torturing Zayne." He laughed, shoving the male out of the store and grabbing a few things once they were gone. He shook his head as Sean dragged Zayne back down the mall towards the food court, turned and chuckled. "Sorry." He huffed, setting the things on the counter.

Lafayette smiled when the other two came in. One of them was just so hyper and happy. It was contagious. She'd always adored people like her, people who could just make everyone in the room laugh. She loved knowing there were people out there who could invoke just as much happy in someone as she could.
She shook her head when he came up to the counter. "You have nothing to be sorry about! It's a candy store. If we don't have a little fun, it'd be all in vain." She smiled over at him, scanning the items into the register. "Uh.. Five twenty. Do you want a bag or you're just gonna stuff it all in his mouth?"

Trez laughed, leaning agains the counter. "I feel like that would be something worth doing," He teased, nose wrinkling. He glanced up as the other two returned, Sean handing him a water bottle and an orange medication bottle. "Got it refilled. And here." Trez glanced at the slip of paper. "I don't trust the numbers you give me anymore," He whined. "Not after the guy that answered. Take your candy and go." Sean laughed, swiping his share, shoving a candy bar at Zayne. Gentle eyes smiled back at the girl as Trez opened the water. "Excuse me a moment.." He murmured, fishing out two pills and swallowing them, raising an eyebrow and trying not to choke as Sean turned to her. "He has a terrible disease. He's too damn sexy, and without those we'd all explode." Trez choked on his water.

She smiled and waved at the quieter boy, taken by his eyes. There was something calming and sweet about them. But the entire trio had something that she seemed to adore about them. And she didn't even know them. She couldn't help but laugh at what Sean said, hoping her cheeks weren't near as hot as they felt. "I was just thinking the same thing! Not the whole, we'd pop thing. I have paper bags if you think that'd help." She offered with a smile, glancing back at Trez. "Don't let us explode, okay? I just got my hair done yesterday. That'd be a horrible waste." She waved her hand dramatically, bouncing over to the phone as it rang.

Zayne waved back, smiling. "Nah we're fine," Sean drawled, laughing as he spotted her blush. Trez just shook his head in amusement and pocketed the bottle of pills, pulling five dollars out and fishing for exact change. He pulled a few picks out before finding change, and set it on the counter, grabbing his lollipop and sticking it in his mouth. Zayne had pulled a pad of paper out, slid a sheet to Trez. 'I have to go buy a few things before we go.' "Take crazy with you," Trez complained.

Lafayette walked back once she was finished on the phone, putting his money in the register. She watched as the other two left, folding her arms over the counter. "You normally hang out with the polar opposites?" She asked with a smile, drumming her fingers on the counter for a moment. She checked her watch, then held her finger up to him. She walked into the back room to clock out, hanging her apron on a hook before she walked out. She hopped up on the counter, sliding across it to get to the other side. "You didn't see that."

Trez smirked. "Mm, yeah. They're my band mates, and best friends. You'd be surprised how similar they used to be. He smiled when she clocked out and slid over the counter, pretending to zip his lips sealed. "But no, Zayne, the blonde one, is mute. You couldn't get a word out of his if you tried."

"He doesn't have to talk. His eyes talk enough." She smiled over at him, dusting off the front of her red and white striped dress. Her stomach growled and she wrinkled her nose, reaching up to fix the pony tail she had her hair up in. "I could go for like.. a chili cheese dog and french fries and cotton candy and pickles. I'm just hungry." She laughed, then nodded towards the door. "You gonna come with me, Casanova, or do I have to eat all by my lonesome?"

"Mm." Another gentle chuckle. "I'm no Casanova," He complained. "You barely know me, asking a complete stranger to lunch." He suck his tongue out, then smiled. "Good enough for me, let's go." He nudged her towards the door and food court, humming obnoxiously, saying hey to a few people they passed before bounding around the corner and pausing so she could decide what she was getting. "You know, I don't even know your name."

Lafayette laughed, shaking her head as she slipped her hands into her pockets. "I haven't met a stranger I didn't like. Except maybe that one creepy guy who is always at the rear exit of the mall when I get off. He's kind of weird." She shuddered to emphasize her point, then bounced after him around the corner. "I'm Lafayette. But you'd be surprised at how many people call me Laffy Taffy and Lollipop. Even before I worked at the candy shop." She stopped to look at the menu, chewing on her lip for a moment. "What about you? Casanova's not the name your mother gave you?" She asked, smiling over at him.

"Is he now?" Trez rose an eyebrow, raking a hand through his hair. He smirked. "Well you sure act like that's what you live on," He teased, eyes saying he was only playing, meant no harm. "I like it, it's pretty." A nod, then a scoff. "Hardly. My mom liked odd names, my brother and I both. Name's Trez." He dramatically bowed and offered a hand. "Pleasure to meet you outside of pretending I wanted candy so I could get a closer look." A wink.

She nodded seriously at his question. She really did find the afore mentioned man creepy. Which was saying a lot. "But I really do live on candy!" She laughed, playing with a wrapped one in her pocket. She smiled at his compliment, taking his hand gently. "It's certainly nice to meet you too. I guess that means I passed the test since I didn't have to drag you to lunch kicking and screaming." She smiled, drawing her hand back from his so she could bounce up to the counter. "I want a bacon cheese burger with extra pickles and a chocolate milkshake with a cherry on top! And french fries!" She told the boy, sliding her card across the counter to him.
