the personality
Almost drowning at the age of nine. Aurora was never really a strong swimmer, but a summer outing to the local pool with her brother and a group of friends had somehow convinced her to dive into the deep end when the others were otherwise occupied with games of Marco Polo and the like. A split second below the surface she began to panic, feeling as though the weight of the water was crushing down on her chest. Aurora was really only under for a few moments, but to her it felt like an eternity. To this day she won’t venture into water that goes higher than her chest for fear of reliving that helpless feeling.
WORST MEMORY:
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Aurora is much more than your usual Southern Belle / Girl Next Door. While having the abilities to be charming and as honeyed as sweet tea, she is utterly outspoken (sometimes to her detriment), and will always let you know what she’s thinking. That also means she has the tendency to speak before she thinks, which leads to its own messes of misunderstandings and clarifications; apologies and embarrassments. It’s not that she’s cold by any means, she just tends to come off as a bit blunt.
She went through a fierce tomboy phase growing up on top of it all, opting for playing in the dirt with her brother and his friends over playing tea party or dress up with the other girls. Aurora grew out of the phase right around the end of elementary school, settling into her self created niche of someone who is just as comfortable covered in dust riding a horse as going shopping and spending far too much of her money on a pair of boots.[/blockquote]

Blake & Corinth O'Reilly
PARENTS:
SIBLINGS: Ventus O'Reilly {Twin brother}
HOMETOWN: Dallas, Texas
OVERALL HISTORY: [/blockquote]
Aurora is the only daughter of Blake and Corinth O’Reilly, blessed with an instant playmate in her fraternal brother Ventus. She was born a full twenty-five minutes earlier, something she rarely lets her brother forget. The O’Reilly clan seemed the typical All-American sort of family; doting parents with two children, living in picturesque rural Texas, and working hard for a living on the family ranch.
Of course, as with most things that appear too good to be true, it was. There was more to her parents’ relationship than that of loving husband and loving wife. Though for many years they tried to hide it, growing up in a family with parents who simply go through the motions for the sake of appearances can have a lasting impression on a girl. The whole situation made her question letting herself get involved in any sort of romantic relationship ever, let alone wanting to get married in the future.
Two years ago, Aurora and her mother left the family ranch and moved into the city so that Corinth could be closer to work, and Aurora could try to balance her schoolwork with a passion for modeling. It wasn’t that Aurora didn’t care for the country; she had always loved the animals, and wasn’t completely keen on leaving her horse and dog behind, but it was what her mother had wanted. The schoolwork tended to come easy; she was a quick learner to go with her quick mouth, but the modeling was proving to be much harder than she expected. The separation from Ventus hasn’t helped, as twins tend to share a bond that others can’t understand. Aurora hasn’t had the opportunity to see much of her other half over the last two years, and sometimes it feels as though a part of her is missing; almost like a phantom limb.

ROLE PLAYING SAMPLE [/blockquote]
{{from another RP with another of my characters, Keera.}}
Keera never really cared much for her birthday. It came so close to Christmas for starters, which was a gift giving disaster. Keera knew well the horror and disappointment that came with the dreaded ‘Birthday/Christmas’ presents that she would get from her father’s family back in Romania. Technically there was a birthday gift inside, but since there was a Christmas one as well – two packages were too hard? – she would have to wait until the 25th to open the entire parcel. Secondly, Keera wasn’t a fan of the winter in general. She much would have rather had a June birthday; August or September even if she was feeling particularly desperate for a sunny day and a warm breeze.
Her sixteenth birthday was feeling more like a June longing: short sleeves instead of layers, bare feet instead of snow boots. Keera always thought the oak tree in the middle of the courtyard looked miserable in the English winters, and she knew how that poor tree felt. Maybe that was why she had decided to come to the Courtyard to go through the little parcels that had appeared earlier that Saturday morning. Share the cheer a bit.
Juggling the brown paper packages in one arm, Keera dusted off a section of stone wall so she could sit comfortably – at least as comfortably as one can sit on a frozen rock. She sat down next to her pile, pulling her legs up onto the wall in order to sit cross legged. First would be the package from her Puri daj – her paternal grandmother. It was usually better to get that one over with as soon as possible. Her grandmother was still under the assumption that Keera was 6. And fancied pink. This year seemed to be no different. Unwrapping the bundle, Keera produced a knitted –knitted!- pair of earmuffs in a shocking pink color with a scarf and mittens to match. "Puri daj outdid herself on this one." Reluctantly, Keera slipped the fluff over her ears, cringing all the while. They looked like two poms on a headband.
The present from her parents was predictable but as delightful as always – a bag of chocolate covered almonds, a small tin of her mother’s hazelnut chocolate cookies, and some salt water taffy. She unwrapped a taffy and popped it in her mouth as she opened the one from her brothers. “Ugh. Clove.” She made a face and coughed a couple times. “Ick.”
