Her favorite corner table was open, at least there was that. Aurora set her latte down and slid into the chair that faced the entrance to the cafe. Gave her a chance to people watch while she waited, which helped to pass the time. And speaking of time...
Her mother was an hour late now as Aurora checked her watch again, but that really wasn't anything new. Corinth O'Reilly was rarely on time for things that weren't meetings or fittings or photoshoots. Especially not for her usual coffee date with her daughter. It was the same routine every Friday night: Aurora would go down to the coffee shop after dinner to meet her mother, as it was really their only chance to catch up during the week with Corinth's ridiculous work schedule.
Aurora had gotten used to having her drink alone, but usually her mother would have at least texted by now. Must have been a deadline she'd forgotten to mention. Either way, it was looking to be another night of her having a cup alone and heading home. [/blockquote]
