With a roll of his eyes, he stuffed another piece of chicken in his mouth just to keep him from saying something that'd make her mad. Besides, she would just come back with a snide remark and dinner would go to hell. As he took a sip from his water, his eyes glanced to Chelsea. Cameron knew that she wouldn't believe him if he said that he had another girlfriend. The most he had were one night stands. All he ever wanted to do was find Chelsea and Adrienne.
"You want me to stay here?.." He watched Chelsea carefully as he asked. She had been acting like he was a mangy mutt no more than twenty minutes ago, and now she wanted to be nice? Chelsea was a complicated person. Any time he thought he had figured her out, she would add more pieces to the puzzle

"Frankly dear, I don't care what you do. I was only offering because I thought you may want to spend the night with your daughter." She'd had enough of her food, and there was nothing interesting in the paper. So she folded it back, and stood, placing it in her chair. Then she grabbed her plate and brought it to the kitchen, scraping it off into the trash. She slowly started to wash the dishes just so she wouldn't have to be around him any longer than she needed to. She still loved him, sure. But she didn't need her hopes getting up that they could be a normal couple because they never would.

Did she always have to be so hostile? It was just a simple question. He didn't need all the attitude with her answer. Cameron wiped his mouth as she went into the question. He huffed quietly to himself before scooting his chair back and picking up his plate. Chelsea and Cameron's relationship was no fairy tale. It was more of like a house of cards, the lightest breeze could make it all come down. Many people would have probably given up by now, but Cameron still had a bit of faith that things could work out. That him and Chelsea could have a family. He knew it sounded crazy, but something about Chelsea made him feel complete, even when she would scream 'I hate you!' at the top of her lungs.
A sneeze seemed to bring him back to life, and suddenly, he realized he had been standing at the entrance of the kitchen, watching Chelsea wash the dishes. "I could have cleaned the dishes... You did cook after all." Cameron walked toward her, putting the plate on the counter.

Chelsea didn't bother to look up from what she was doing. Quite honestly, she was ready to just go to bed. Maybe she'd wake up from this nightmare. "This is a woman's work." She said quietly. She rinsed the suds off the dishes slowly, then took a dish towel to dry them off. "There's ice cream in the freezer. You can fix them dessert. Mikey doesn't like sprinkles and Adrienne doesn't like vanilla ice cream." She started to put the dishes away, listening to Adrienne in the other room trying to teach Mikey to speak. She was patient with him, even if he got frustrated and started to cry cause he couldn't get it right. She just sighed, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked out the window.

"Are you kidding me?" Cameron huffed, "I don't understand why the hell I'm suppose to just sit back quietly while you make snappy remarks every chance you get. At least I'm actually trying to get a long. But what do you do? You just keep pushing and pushing." He shook his head and began to look through the cabinets for two bowls. "You vanish for four years and then when I finally stumble across you, you treat me like I was the most horrible thing in your life." He couldn't stop himself from rambling. All of his thoughts were now thrown out in the middle of the kitchen. Picking up the bowls of ice cream, Cam looked over at Chelsea. "But I'll let you get your way. I won't speak to you unless you speak to me and I'll make sure to keep out of your way." He walked over to the table and gave the kids their ice cream before settling down in a chair.
